s URGENT URGENT URGENT RESCUE NEEDED s CONTACT Brenna @ 214-499-1516 or via Facebook. I am looking for an IMMEDIATE RESCUE, a reputable 501c3 or no-kill shelter which can provide behavioral assessment, training and a loving home for Daisy. We need a solution by the end of the weekend. I am going to have to cash out my savings to cover the vet bills, but I will give any legitimate rescue a good chunk of my savings to help save Daisy's life. I am not about euthanizing dogs. Hell, we will even drive her to Canada if there's a reputable rescue there! Whatever it takes, just please help me figure this out. We rescued Daisy from the side of the road and have tried to rehome her for a year now. No one came to help. She collapsed in front of someone's house and sat outside for 2 days because it was Good Friday and Animal Control refused to come. (She would have gone to the kill shelter anyway.) She fell out of a pickup truck bed and was dragged behind it on 660 near Ferris Intermediate. Her nails were ground down past the wick, totally gone. She had nothing but a chain-link yard chain on her and after looking for her owner online, no one came forward (thankfully!) She was used as a breeder and is only 2 years old, but has clearly had multiple litters. We stepped in because the homeowner was threatening to shoot her. We are not a rescue. We do not have the time, resources, or finances to give this dog what she deserves. We are not qualified to assess her behavior and have done the best we can to help her. We are an AV technician and a graphic designer trying to do a good thing. I have volunteered online with animal rescue for about six years now. In the past year, I have partnered with TWO separate rescues to list Daisy as a guest foster dog, taken her to adoption events, paid to boost posts multiple times on Facebook, annoyed friends to share her info, reviewed countless applications, investigated hoarders who wanted her, bought as much training for her as I could afford, BUT I DESPERATELY NEED HELP. We do believe she would be a great companion for someone, but she needs training. Our dog Maddie is jealous and has picked fights with her all of the 3 times we tried to socialize them, so we've been diligent about keeping them securely separated ever since. Somehow, Daisy escaped her dog run and got out into the yard with Maddie today while we were at work. A major fight occurred which has left our older dog Maddie in the vet's office for the rest of the weekend. Daisy has several puncture holes which we have cleaned and treated. Her injuries are mild, as she is a much larger, way more athletic, and a lot younger than our dog. Maddie has always instigated these fights in response to Daisy prodding her to play. Maddie has a history of jealousy and aggression toward female bully dogs. She's my dog, and I know this about her. I take precautions, but all those precautions failed today. They got out in the yard together, and no one knows exactly what happened. Daisy has never done anything but annoy Maddie to play. We didn't see what happened, and our Wyze Cam managed to pick up nothing of the event, so we cannot accurately assign blame to anyone. I have seen Daisy do nothing but express naive, poorly socialized play behaviors, never 'aggression.' I have seen unprovoked jealousy and aggression in my dog but again, I don't know jack about dog behavior. All we know is that we cannot allow these two dogs to live together any longer, as we cannot keep them separated. Daisy does not deserve to die in a shelter because she defended herself after Maddie attacked her. The best thing you can do to help is find us an immediate 501c3 rescue for Daisy. I am at a total loss at this point. Daisy is current on all shots, spayed, the works. Details of her personality and needs are included in the posts below, along with photos. I will tell you anything you want to know with complete honesty if you'll comment or give me a call. PLEASE help. https://www.facebook.com/pg/wittsendranch/photos/?tab=album&album_id=602071513485286 https://www.facebook.com/wittsendranch/videos/588416248285356/
