About Bentley

Bentley, would first like you to know that he's a tale wagger and excited to meet you and other dogs and humans along the path of life. So where's the nearest dog park??? I want to play with some 4 legged friends. I do experience some leash aggression so usually for walks I wear my harness and know it's walk time and will try to behave better.Bentley is quite Intelligent and listens most of the time, others a small treat, and you have his attention. As his doggy dad I am still amazed by his ability to leave the extra large of dog food alone, it's on the floor 2 feet from his water/food bowl .. So well house broken he has not chewed up anything in years ,so he has the run of the house. He still has a crate but the door is removed ( Still have it, just in case) its his house and where he goes and feels safe usually on the 4th of July. Bentley also likes to be around who ever is home so he often picks the same few resting spots that are near who ever is home . Bentley even has very distinctive whimpers, barks and other sounds , like a little woof by the door to let someone know he has to go out or a similar woof but by his dishes to let you know if its lunch or dinner time or if he is out of water. Often he also loves to get his belly rubbed, he has been. Known to just lay on his side and be very submissive.�%A0 Bentley can be very affectionate, he will even come up to humans who care for him and give kisses to your face and rub his nose on you. Even at 95 lbs he thinks hes a lap dog ,often if you are just watching TV he will actually get on the couch and rest right up against you. As for barking, he will find a location where he can observe anyone approaching HIS house and then he barks more of a defensive bark. But like many of us he has one bad mark�%A0 ,he has a bite record with animal control,�%A0 a bicyclist who was bitten on her butt ...I could not see any blood ,but did call the police and ambulance for her.It was not some wild mauling I think she panicked and stopped and hit him ,because I heard him squeal a little like he was stepped on and thusly bit her . And yes several months later her lawyers were asking for the home owners insurance company...Bentley is a morning dog around 5-7am, but has adapted well to shift working hours when needed.Bentley likes his daily walks and or to play fetch with his toys, mainly ropes and frisbees. Bentley also loves to be with people so if allowed he will share the couch with his favorite human at the time. Bentley also loves to get wet, but hates the hair dryer, but please tell my dad to bring over my pool it's getting hot outside .( Yes he has a kiddie pool ,I'll bring it if he needs it )His favorite chew toys are bone or polymer toys that can have a treat stuff in , if it gets difficult to get the stuffed treat out , he picks up the toy and drops it to get that treat. He loves rides in the car especially if he gets to stick his head out of the sunroof.
