This is a courtesy post: Please email sitstayawhile @aol.com regarding the adoption of this dog! Mercy is a 9 month old Belgian malinois/ German shepherd mix spayed female. She was relinquished because her owner is ill and she doesn't have the ability to properly care for the dog. Mercy is not typical malinois energy but not laid back either. She is a silly sweet dog. She is currently living with my dogs from a shihpoo to a German shepherd and is good with most dogs, however when walking her she is reactive when she sees another dog. It did take her about a week to adjust to my dogs. I do not believe she was properly socialized when she was younger. She is great with me and friendly with the people that have met her, but not a beginners dog. She has started training( i use clicker training) and i am training her to ring the bell when she has to go outside. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is a good watch dog. I would be willing to help with a few clicker lessons - she does very well with them. She would do best in an adult home with probably no small dogs. She is a diamond in the rough. I have started teaching her to track also and seems to be very good- learning fast and really uses her nose. She will go to approved home, with some dog experience. She listens ok off lead but i would not walk with her off due to her reactivity to other dogs. I believe she could be trained to not be reactive, her owner did nothing to train her. She is a food motivated dog and very smart. She loves clicker training. Lovely girl. She is looking for someone that is willing to continue training her in obedience and tracking.
