About Apollo

APOLLO is a 4.5 mo old male German Shepherd mixed with possibly a little Staffordshire Terrier. He was originally purchased along side the road (yes from some backyard breeder :( we know :( His original owners couldn't handle the responsibility of owning a puppy after they broke up. He is currently in foster care right here in the NW! He is a puppy, and like all puppies he will need training from a loving owner. He will chase toys, or anything (cats, small animals) if he is not trained to do otherwise. He is potty trained, but as he is a puppy you will have to be mindful of how frequently he needs to go to the restroom. He is very easily trained, and in his foster home, he learned the command 'sit'. It took about 20 minutes of training with treats. Apollo will be most happy in a home that can give him exercise and attention. He should continue with his socialization, and if the owner cannot give him attention because they are at work, an arrangement where he is walked or at daycare will keep him happy. He loves to play and wrestle with other dogs. He is currently 30 lbs but will likely grow to 50 or ? lbs by adulthood. He would do well as the only dog in a home or with another also larger dog. He needs training on how to behave with smaller animals (dogs, cats, chickens, etc). We don't recommend a home with a cat, you likely could make it work but it would take work, just being honest!
