About Reggie

Meet Reggie. This 6 year old, pit / lab mix was found as an unclaimed stray. Poor Reggie has a bit of a limp. We took him to the vet to be brought up to date and through xrays we learned that he was likely struck by a car several years ago and went unseen by a vet. He fractured his hip area in several places. He still uses the leg for balance, but he will always have a limp and surgery just isn't really an option that would even help him much. Reggie will be a good dog for someone that has no other pets and potentially a fenced yard. He's house trained and crate trained. He rides nicely in the car. He's not a big fan of 'hugs and kisses' and being petted all over unless its on his terms. He is the dog that will be a companion and bark when someone is at the door, but probably not the dog that wants to be on your lap. He is a bit more independent than that and does like his personal space. We would recommend Reggie to a home with older kids because of this. We feel he needs someone who sees him as a middle aged dog in need that would love to get out of the shelter and into a home where he can have a nice spot on the floor on a pet bed. Reggie is looking for his own, new best friend. Reggie's adoption fee is waived to an approved applicant.
