About Woody

Date into Rescue: 11/26/2018 Reason for being in rescue: Woody was found as a stray in NC and landed at the animal shelter. CPR pulled her from the shelter. Special Needs: Woody has evidence of having sustained oral and trauma to left eye resulting in astigmatism. This does not seem to affect him and definitely does not slow him down! What kind of home would be best for me: Woody would love an active home with a fun family. What is my personality like: Woody is wide open and ready for whatever adventure you throw at him! He is very high energy and will need a lot of play time/ exercise. The vet has examined Woody and it appears that he has evidence of sustained oral and trauma to his left eye causing a astigmatism. We are not exactly sure what happened but we have noticed Woody is head shy, and will duck down when you go to pick him up or reach over his head. Hopefully this is something he will grow out of as he is picked up more often and realizes he is okay. Woody has a personality of a puppy and loves treats, toys, and of course attention. He could use some basic training and is willing to learn for a treat or 2! With other dogs, his energy can be overwhelming and they might not tolerate him. It all depends on the dog. How do I act when I first meet new people: Very friendly! Tips and Tidbits: Woody's days of being a homeless stray are over and he is looking for the family his heart desires. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
