About Spot

Adoption Fee: $300
Doberman Pinscher
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Spot is a six-year-old blue Doberman and came to us from a shelter in northern New Mexico. This gentle giant is such a lover-he just always wants to snuggle and be right next to you, he will nudge his nose on your leg to get attention. He is very unaware of his size and is always trying to climb into his foster mom's lap. If you are laying on the couch or bed Spot will be right next to you and will make sure he can get as close as he can, so he gets lots of love. He is crate trained and stays in the crate while his foster family is at work. He also sleeps the night in his crate just like the other pups in the house. Just say the word kennel and he will rush into his crate for that snack. He is very food motivated and is super gentle in taking treats. He knows basic commands like sit and down. He works well with snaps or a clicker when it comes to listening. He gets along great with other dogs and can play all day with his toys and is always willing to give up his toy to the pesky puppies in the house. He lets these little girls crawl all over him and loves to play and chase them all over the backyard. You can tell he has been around lots of puppies in his life because he is as calm as it gets when these girl nibble and lick him to death. It did take him a while to open up to the other male dog in the house, but now they are buddies and you can see them lounging together on the bed or couch as well as running around to catch the puppies in the backyard. He is learning the leash but does get distracted easily and sometimes likes to pull when he sees something. But with work this can be broken. He weighs almost 80 pounds and has bald spots that unfortunately have not started to re grow even with proper food and care. But this is common with Blue Dobies and Spot doesn't know he is bald :)
