About Lola V

This sweet girl is Lola. She is a 10 month old Chihuahua mix who weighs 11 pounds. Lola came to us from a shelter in Mississippi with her two younger sisters but we don't have any information on how they came to be at the shelter to start with. Lola is a little timid and will take a day or two to settle in a new environment. Once she feels safe she likes to be near her person and does like to sleep with them at night. Lola gives the impression that she is not used to being held as she is a bit wary to start with if you try and pick her up. It is best to wait until she shows you she is ready to be touched as she will shy away otherwise. Once she is used to you she quickly gets used to all the positive attention and she really likes it. She is a bit of a hoarder and likes to grab shoes, clothes, leashes, cords, and pretty much anything else she can drag back to her dog bed! She has not been used to playing in a backyard before based on her reaction to it, but she is starting to enjoy being outside. She is OK with the other dogs at the foster home but it took a few days before she showed any interest in playing with any of them except her sisters. She loves playing with toys and is very playful. Lola has not been tested with kids but we think she would be fine with older children, just not small children since she is a bit skittish. She has been doing OK with the resident cat. She is not fully housebroken yet but she is doing well going outside on a regular schedule and will use training pads when in the house.
