About Sushi (west)

SUSHI - A4024945 This is Sushi. She is a 2 year old spayed female, Cream colored Chow Chow mix. She has been at the shelter since Dec 20, 2018. Sushi does not like the slip lead over her head. She takes treats and allows petting so it is best to use clip lead. She walks hesitantly on the leash, and appears to be fearful of barking dogs. Once in the yard, she sat with me and another volunteer. She took treats gently and allowed petting. She also sought attention and came when called. Sushi's previous owners (one year) says they got bit when giving her a treat and they accidentally dropped it and she bit when they tried to pick it up. Apparently, Sushi has had no behavior training. They say she was friendly, but sometimes became territorial and barks at people. We feel that with some additional training, this beautiful and rare breed would make a wonderful family member. Unless we can find a home for Sushi very soon, she will go on the euthanasia list.
