About Duke

Adoption Fee: $175
Bluetick Coonhound
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Bow down, ladies and gents, because the Duke is here! Hi, I'm Duke. That's D-U-K-E for when you go in to get my flashy new name tag. I'm seven years young and I've had a great life so far. That is, things were going peachy until my owner passed away and, alas, I found myself homeless. You wanna know why that didn't keep me down for long? Well, 'tis quite simple; my hound nose can smell the adoption vibes coming off of you through the internet. So you're looking at me thinking I'm probably just another hunting dog with no training, eh? Well buddy, have I got news for you. I am house trained and leash trained! I'm also a great companion for other dogs as long as I can eat my food alone, in peace. I like to think of myself as a people person, so if you're looking for a hound dog to sing along with on long car rides or to snore along with on the couch, I think you just found him. Alright, now that I've got you caught in my hound dog magic, it's time for you to get on down to the Waynesboro Petsmart on Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM. We've got so much to do; you've gotta adopt me, we've gotta pick up some snacks, and we've got a whole lifetime of snoozles and car rides to get to. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location. If you have questions, please message us on Facebook.
