About Milo

Adoption Fee: $225
Brussels Griffon / Yorkie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hello, my name is Milo. I am a Brussels Griffon mixed with something... maybe Yorkie? I'm black in color which makes it harder to take good pictures of me. I hope you can see my sweet brown eyes... they are begging for attention for someone to love me! I'm a young, 2 year old, neutered male dog who can be average to high energy and requires a younger family. I am a good weight 18-19 lbs. for my size; however, came in at 17 lbs. Yikes! I've been eating too many treats since arriving at my foster home... it's those holiday peanut butter biscuit treats! I was turned over to the local shelter back in early August, along with my friend Rosie, when our owner had to go to hospital. In November, I was released to Puppy Pals Rescue. I was neutered prior to my surrender. When I came into PPR, I was taken to their vet's office and all my shots were updated. I also had heartworm and fecal tests (both results negative). I had been micro-chipped by my prior owner and that information will be given and transferred over to my new home. My foster home feels that due to my high energy and playfulness, I require a fenced-in yard along with another active pup about my size to chase and play with - playing with tug toys is fun! Since I am a young pup, I will require lots of exercise. I'm usually the first one out the door when it's time to go potty and usually the last one in. I've been told that I don't respond to my name very well - I'm working on it. In my leisure time, I love to lay on a lap, especially with my foster dad when he's in the recliner. I'll tap his leg to show him that I want up for some lap time. It's been brought to my attention that I can be a food-piggy. I'm not food aggressive, but I have no problem pushing my way to the front of the pack when it's time to eat or when treats are being passed out! You should see me%BD'%BD| I'm really good at catching treats tossed in the air. LOL While at my foster home, I have been working on crate/leash/potty-training. The crate training is excellent, the leash training is okay, but I still need to learn routine on going outside. I will go potty if taken outside... as you can tell in my video which will be posted soon. (My foster home has great timing by taking a video when I'm pottying. How embarrassing!) I've had a rough 2018 - losing my Momma and then living at the shelter for months. However, I'm looking ahead to finding a 2nd chance at a new life in 2019. I'd love to come to your home and hangout on the back of your chair or couch%BD'%BD| just being a good watch-dog, watching TV with you, waiting for you to play with me or give me a treat. I just need some time and patience from my new home. PPR does highly suggest that Milo go to a basic training obedience class to become the ideal dog that we know he can be.
