[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Willie is a charismatic 14 y.o. cuddledud who I wound up incidentally fostering (I am not an actual foster) for the last few months and badly need to find a home or legitimate foster for. His original owners-acquaintances of mine-contacted me last minute in need of a place for Willie after they were suddenly forced to move and could not find affordable, dog-allowing housing in their area. They absolutely did not want to put him in a shelter, but had no luck scrambling to find a friend to take him or a rescue/foster organization that had room for him in the few days they had to move. Knowing my love for animals and my menagerie of rescues at home, they contacted me last minute asking if I could take him in temporarily and try to find a permanent home for him. After nearly six months and five serious adopters falling through, Willie is still with me. I'd keep him if I could but I'm already at my maximum capacity for animals in terms of time, finances, and my landlord's approval, with two other dogs, a cat, and several small animals of my own. I'm looking for an adopter, but also if anyone knows of rescues or fosters I could contact it would be much appreciated! Willie LOVES attention and cuddles and will insistently shove his head under your hands for pets at any given moment. He is great with all people and all other animals. He's a beagle so of course he has that raucous hound dog bark and howl which he will greet you with every time you come home, along with a good licking. He is more active than my own 14 year old beagle is, and occasionally likes to chase squeaky tennis balls Z%BE. He has mad hops and can easily jump the average pet/baby gate. I have a bed, blankie, dishes, flea meds, food, and toys to send with him. He is not fixed, and likes to hump dog beds, blankets, pillows, or other cushiony items routinely after each meal and tears holes in them in the process, so I keep things things out of his reach and give him designated blankets to use instead. Health-wise, he is an older dog and has the dental issues beagles are prone to. I mix a little wet food like pumpkin, squash, sweet potato, unsweetened applesauce, broth (without onion or garlic), or canned dog food in with his kibble to soften it. He loves a wide variety of dog-safe fruits and veggies! Blueberries, cooked carrots, and peas are other favorites. He has a hobbly walk, a wheezy voice, impaired hearing, needs to pee frequently (I recommend buying a gallon of Nature's Miracle), and one of his testes is firmer than the other-all issues that need looked into further by a vet. He is up to date on his rabies vaccine but no others. Thinking he would be quickly adopted, I have not taken him to the vet myself but if he's with me much longer I'll have to, coming up on the six month mark. I'm also willing to split vet costs with an adopter if that helps him find a home. I haven't decided on a rehoming fee, but if interested please private message me and we can work something out. Another option is for an adopter to front all/part of his veterinary bills, I'll take him to the vet visit itself, and then release him to the adopter in lieu of the adopter paying a rehoming fee. I think this would save everyone time and money and would ensure he is going to a good home.
