About TRIXIE DIES MONDAY

Trixie is a 1 y/o 62 pound great pyr, terrier, pointer mix in urgent need of rescue. She is in an overcrowded shelter in the South and will die monday if no help comes. The shelter shares 'Health: She looks great, no issues seen. She DOES have double dewclaws. Temperament: She is VERY sweet, tho a little timid to begin with. She seems to be good with other dogs, she did very well with the shelter manager's dog but was a bit scared in the shelter with the other barking dogs. She did well with the quieter ones, was willing to approach them, and did so nicely, playing the submissive part - low on the approach with head down. She was also really good with the cats! approached them very slowly as well and was very nice! She walks on a leash, but does pull a bit. I don't think she has spent a lot of time on a leash. Additional Information: She came in as an owner surrender, she belonged to an older lady who surrendered her, and had mentioned reclaiming her, but has not done so. Hence the short notice. Shelter Hold Ends: January 4 @4:00pm'. This which means if not adopted or fostered she will be killed Monday morning. A local Bucks County, PA rescue wants to help her but has no foster homes opened. In fact they have too many dogs in boarding kennels right now at a cost of $1500 a month. So to save this pup they need a commitment from a suitable foster or adopter. Be sure to include some particulars about yourself (where you live, family and pet makeup; own/rent home, fenced yard, etc.) This rescue could use donations to help with aforementioned kennel costs and to defray rescue costs. (Rescue Costs include: $125 shelter release fee; $200+ vetting (healthy dogs); pre-transport boarding $200+; and $150 for transporting from SC to PA). Donations are separate from adoption fees.
