Jake is a 7 year old, 82-pound German Wirehaired Pointer who entered the shelter system because his owner did not want to manage his behaviors. Jake will kill cats and squirrels if given the opportunity. He will likely not do well with chickens, rabbits, or small dogs. Jake is described as very loving with people. He loves to follow you around and be with his people. He does very well with children as the owner had 21 grandchildren of all ages. Jake was housetrained and crate-trained, and would love a home where he is allowed to live indoors with his people. He knows sit, down, stay, come and kennel. Because he lived outside, he learned to chew on wood. Make sure to give him dog-friendly treats and toys to chew on. Jake can be picky about his dog friends, so make sure to bring your dog in for a meet and greet at the shelter. Jake's adoption fee is $125 and includes current vaccines, microchip and neuter surgery. Come meet Jake anytime Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 7 pm.
