About Simon-ADOPTION PENDING

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Simon. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. His tail appears to have a mind of its own as it wags in pure joy as he greets humans and other dogs. Simon's rescuer was very quick to tell us that he is SO much more handsome than his photo. She said that he has the most beautiful, and very expressive eyes filled with so much wisdom. Once he has a much-needed sudsy bath and grooming, Simon will absolutely be the cutest guy around. This very sweet and really, really smart 9 month old, 10 lb guy (anticipated to be approximately 12 - 13 lbs when full-grown) is a truly great companion. He's such a perfect age and size...old enough to be beyond puppyish behavior but young enough (and the perfect size) to be overjoyed with beautiful and fun Colorado hikes and social neighborhood walks for many, many years to come. Simon's rescuer described this gorgeous boy as just about perfect! She gave the following info about sweet Simon...Simon is an often calm, yet playful guy who really is so sweet and kind. He's a special love bug who wants nothing more than to warm your lap and be devoted and SO sweet! He's respectful in my house and has been trustworthy (while a bit shy) with the humans and dogs that he encounters (untested with cats). He's wonderful with me, my husband, our 3 daughters (from 12 - 18 years old) and our 2 smaller dogs. Simon's lucky new family will be getting a true gem! We can picture Simon as the best friend to retirees. He'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will on a daily basis. Simon would also do well in a family with dog-loving older kids and other gentle dogs. He'd love the fun and active lifestyle...a dog-friendly adventure would put Simon over the moon. There's also no question that Simon would be the most popular guy on the block. He loves to engage and just be his entertaining, adorable self. Even though Simon is usually up for pretty much any activity, he's not pushy or yappy. Exercise and mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans is important to this guy to keep him happy and well-behaved. We'd like Simon's forever family to be either active retirees or a younger family that spends lots of time at home. He's a sensitive guy that truly bonds with his people...we feel that Simon would be much happier if he can spend a good part of his days enjoying his favorite people. This adorable Terrier mix appears to be a non-shedding guy (although it's difficult to tell for certain until his sad shelter hair grows out into a beautiful new coat). Simon will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is a perfect choice for longevity and coat care) to keep his scruffy Terrier coat very healthy and matt-free. Simon will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver -while we request it, there aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Simon's neuter and microchip immediately after his arrival in Colorado if one of our rescue vets is used. Simon will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 1/5/19.
