About Silky

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Silky came to us as a kitten in 2016. She was fully vetted when we adopted her out. 2 months ago we got a call from her owner, due to health problems, she was no longer able to care for Silky. We brought her back home and were amazed at how this girl acted and looked. Poor Silky was being fed inappropriate food and was grossly obese. Not only that, this girl was crazy scared to death of everything, including her own shadow. She WAS one of the sweetest. most loving kittens when she left here the first time, we just have no idea what happened to her. I have been working with her every day, we put her on a diet first thing! She has already lost 3 pounds, but she could stand to lose at least 2 more. She is a small framed kitty but has been allowed to eat and gain weight, unchecked. She was so fat in fact, that she barely wanted to walk, let alone play and exercise. We now have her playing, and the amount of time she plays is gradually increasing. This girl needs to go to a quiet home with no other pets. She is not a fan of other cats, dogs scare the daylights out of her and kids are totally out of the picture. It's as if this girl was living in an empty void. The owner said she had toys but Silky would not play with them. I bet not, she was too fat to walk let alone play. This girl will need to be monitored for overeating and she will need an owner who will make her play and keep active. She warms up to women faster than men, but she will warm up to anyone eventually. She is no longer an outgoing girl as she was when we first adopted her. Silky will require patience and love. She is a beautiful girl, just a tad chunky and she is very sweet once you get to know her. Silky is up to date on all vaccinations and she was spayed as a kitten. All Vet records will accompany her. * Older children only
