About Chester

About 20 pounds now, was one of 5 starved dogs found in a police investigation. Only 10 pounds when discovered. Family said they had no money to feed the dogs, but they were in a pen in the cold rain with no shelter. He is about 2.5 years old. Very sad situation. They are all now a great weight, have been vaccinated, spayed and neutered. Chester is friendly and wants to please. I do think he will be a dog who will want to guard his person, or family once he bonds. He barks at strangers then wants to say hi and get attention. He is good with cats, but may chase them if they run. He seems to be good with a variety of people. He is crate trained, unsure if he is housebroken. He will resource guard with other dogs, cant blame him as there was not enough food to go around. He is a happy boy and needs a real home who will love him! We require a current, or recent past vet clinic phone number to call for a reference prior to adopting.
