Meet Candy! Candy was a feral who ended up at the sanctuary at 5 months old after she was trapped and neutered; she was unable to be returned to her original community due to property owner not wanting feral cats there. She has spent 14 months under our care in hopes of domesticating her. We started slow, and each step took 3 to 4 months. Finally, for the first time, 2 weeks ago, we were able to pet her, hold her, brush her, and clip her nails with 0 issues. All at once! Candy is a 20 month old main coon mix. She can be reserved at first, with anyone she meets, but warms up to touch fairly quick. She is shy but accepting of LOVE. She needs a loving, patient home and owner who will continue to help her gain trust with people; someone who won't push her, but will continue to show her plenty of attention and affection. She is very playful once she's comfortable and trusting of her people and surroundings. A busy home would be best so she continues to be exposed to people, pets, and human interaction/attention. Busy, but somewhat calm. She's good with older kids, cats and dogs as long as she's respected and treated nicely.
