About ROSE IS A LOVE

They say the ROSE is the flower of love. The same can be said of our Rose. Rose is a 2 year old, petite 45 lb. gorgeous medley of boxer/heeler/hound/pit and something that makes her want to dance for her supper. ROSE lived with a college student until the landlord found out and told her mom to get rid of her. Poor little Rose... one horrible day she lost her home, her mom, all that she loved, and she was dropped at an overcrowded, high kill shelter. At first she was terrified but by morning she blossomed into a friendly, fun-loving and affectionate pup. She enjoyed taking long walks with the volunteers and was very good on the leash and quickly made friends with some of her shelter mates. She attempted to endear herself to the resident cat, but Miss Kitty thought she was too overzealous for her. ROSE has been in a terrific foster home for a while now and this is what they share about this beautiful Rose: 'She is an athletic, agile and acrobatic 'couch potato'. When outside she is go-go-go; inside, she is well-behaved (non-destructive) and likes to curl up frequently for naps. She would make a fantastic running buddy for the jogger and a wonderful hot water bottle substitute for any subsequent aches and pains. At mealtime, she rises up on her hindquarters and 'dances' for her supper... '10 Mississippis' or more. In a word, Rose is an affectionate pup who wants to be your personal cuddle machine. Also she is very social and likes most everyone she meets. She needs some basic training. She is intelligent, eager to please and highly food-motivated, so training time is not wasted on her. What does Rose like the best? She likes to be with you ... especially if you give her a cookie! She will be a wonderful member to any loving family (she's great with kids)!'
