Thank you for taking the time to read this: My family (wife, daughter - 2 years, son - 3 weeks) love Warhol and are so sad to see him go. Our hand is being forced by our insurance provider. My wife and I adopted him in 2014, from the shelter, before I was going to be out of town for a month. He was the safety and security I wanted my wife to have in my absence. He was truly our first child. Long story short, we have a cancellation notice from our insurance agency because of him. We recently renovated a house, and moved in, then the insurance adjuster came out to take pictures for the company and we forgot to take him out of the house. We actually had the same issue a couple of years ago, but, essentially lied to the insurance co. to keep him. It's incredibly frustrating, but with our current circumstances, I'm just not willing to continue the lie and take on the associated risk. He's always thrived within the security and framework of our pack. He loves me, my wife, and my children. He's never shown any aggression to people, ever. Which is why I always contested the insurance companies because, frankly, I think their policies are discriminatory and bull shit. If I'm comfortable with him being in my home, around my children, who are they to say THEY are at risk because of him; it's nonsensical. That said, in home, he barks at strangers who come to the door; which we love. And, he barks at other dogs outside. If he's on a leash, I just talk him through it and we continue our walk. If he's off his leash, like at family gatherings, he'll run up to others dogs and sue them out. Years ago he did get in a scuffle with his brother, who we also adopted from the same shelter. I, the alpha male, was out of the house, both of the boys were waiting to be spayed, my wife had them on a walk, and a female dog got them both excited. When my wife pulled them away, they got tangled, and we think they were both horny and hot, and they got into a fight. They were quarantined, separated, and when we went to reintroduce them, his brother was aggressive, so we left his brother at the shelter and took Warhol back home. Again, that was in 2014. Then, in spring 2017 I took my daughter on a walk, in a chest carrier, and had Warhol on a walk with us. A pitbull, off it's leash, ran up on us and Warhol did a wonderful job defending us. He essentially got the other pitbull by the neck, pinned him to the ground, did not get aggressive beyond getting him into a position of submission, and kept the dog in that position until that dogs owner came and retrieved them. I wanted to be up front about those occurrences. Nonetheless, we have him in our home, with our babies, and consider him one of our babies. We're incredibly sad to see him go and hope that we can find him a good home in the next several days. Peace, Sean Little
