About Jerica

Jerica is fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families. Jerica is a lovely 8-month-old Doberman pup, currently around 40 lbs, that sadly ended up in the shelter as a stray. Somewhere someone trained her for crating, some leash walking, and how to sit. She is housebroken and uses a doggie door with ease. She will need a patient adopter who can work with her timidity out and about. She has a lot of ball drive and loves to swim. She plays well with other dogs. She can be a bit guardy around people with other dogs, so she needs a handler that is Dobie-savvy or able to take charge. She does alert to noises and strange people at the gate. This girl needs more socialization, car rides and outings in public places so she can gain some more confidence in those areas. She will benefit from obedience school also. Overall a higher activity dog that can be well suited to performance or as a jogging or hiking partner. Not a dog that will be happy with just a few walks a day. We would prefer folks with Doberman experience. Jerica absolutely needs a fenced yard and another dog of like size and energy level. This is one smart cookie of a dog who could be an awesome canine companion! Jerica is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm-free.
