This is one special boy who happens to be a handicap-able kitten! When Nando was found and brought to the shelter, the vet indicated that he had some sort of injury to the side of his face and he was very small and thin for his age. He was estimated to be 5 months old but only weighed 2 pounds. He came to Purr Partners and was evaluated again by our vet. His age was confirmed at 5 months and he was malnourished. His ears were riddled with mites and we discovered that he is blind in one eye, although the eye looks normal. After completing the medication to get rid of the mites, and several antibiotics, his ears were still so swollen that the vet couldn't see his eardrums! More medication, more checkups and a few months later, he is better but he is hard of hearing. He hears certain sounds, like the meow from another cat but can sleep through the vacuum cleaner! He tilts his head a little to the right and runs with a slight limp. But with all of this, he is still a normal kitten. He loves to play and run and can manage the stairs with no problem. He loves to chase crinkly balls all over and carry them around in his mouth. And the best news ever...he has finally made it to the top of the cat tree! And can get down on his own. Amazing!! He loves to curl up on a warm lap too. When he's ready for a nap he reaches up to his foster mom and snuggles up under chin. He is just the sweetest thing!! He has definitely filled out and gained weight in the last few months but he may always be on the smaller side.
