About Zoe & Ella

Yorkie / Silky Terrier
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

1/3/19 Note from Ella and Zoe's foster mom: Ella is definitely more independent, but she will still go looking for Zoe when she wants to lay down or cuddle. Zoe is also more adventurous now. She is learning the house and goes where she wants. She still has some sight. Both girls have different personalities with some things but are definitly bonded to one another. Zoe is doing really well learning to get around and be more independent too. She is really starting to come out of her shell now that it's been a few weeks. Zoe actually does her business and then now comes back to the door to come back in. Both girls still working on potty training and using pee pads. They still have accidents and miss the pee pee pads mostly when I'm at work. Zoe is going through heartworm treatment and needs to be spayed. She also has several mammary tumors and another tumor pushing on her trachea that needs removed before available for adoption. Both girls available foster too adopt with approved application. Meet Zoe and Ella! Zoe is 13 yrs young weighing 5 pounds and Ella is 9 years young weighing 3 pounds. Both are tea cup silky yorkies. Both girls were owner surrender. Grand mother and grand daughter. Any who, these poor girls arrived a mess. Ella over all is in ok health. Her skin is improving. She only has 1 canine left. However, Zoe has many health issues and obsticles we need to help her over come. Zoe is mostly blind and deaf, has mammary tumors, and another tumor pushing on her trachea. Sadly on top of all that, she's heartworm positive as well. Oh, and she too only has a few teeth left. The girls have been with us a few months and are thriving. Both have gained about a pound each. Zoe is on meds and is due to see the vet at the end of January for another set of x-rays. The plan is to recheck the tumor for growth and over all get her a bit stronger to hopefully undergo surgery and remove both tumors. Zoe has begun heartworm treatment as well. Both girls are in a temporary foster home until their next appointment. Ella will be getting spayed and hopefully Zoe will be too. Both girls are available to foster to adopt. I refuse to separate after being together their whole lives. It's clear to us they are bonded, although Ella gets irritated by Zoe easily. Ella is a bit bossy and definitely more outgoing, but Zoe plays it safe and is much more reserved. Ella will explore her surroundings and Zoe will too, to an extent. Zoe prefers to snuggle up to a person while Ella likes to join the dogs. Both girls are playful with dogs and do well with cats. Oh, and Zoe loves children. Zoe is the one in the green sweater. Ella is smaller and is in the red sweater. To apply to foster to adopt BOTH girls, please visit our website: www.animalhousesanctuary.org
