Both girls were brought to the East Valley Animal Shelter on November 30, after their owner died. No local family could take care of them, and because they are microchipped, they were placed on hold should another family member be located. Little DAISY is the one getting oohed and aahed at, and the fear that she will be adopted without POLLY is real. While these two are obviously dependent on each other, the shelter cannot make an adopter take two dogs if they only want one. Therefore, I'm hoping that by giving a few days advance notice, the village can spread the word to rescues and families who might be able to accommodate these two precious pooches so that they can remain together. The shelter, at 14409 Vanowen St., Van Nuys, CA, will open at 11:00 a.m. on December 30. Hopefully, someone will show up to rescue/adopt DAISY and POLLY so that they will enjoy a new home in the new year.
