About Bandit

Adoption Fee: $200
Redbone Coonhound mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Please see photos on our website. Bandit is a 4-year-old, 47-pound Coonhound mix. He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows multiple commands such as sit, stay, shake, drop it, off, and out. Once he gets to know you, he can get vocal when greeting you and loves your attention. He will be attached at your hip, and once you start rubbing his ears, he will usually flop over for a belly rub. He rarely begs at the dinner table and is mostly quiet inside, except when you first come home. On a leash, Bandit does pretty well and will ignore people and other dogs. He may pull a little, but a slight tug on his leash will remind him to slow down again. He requires no special collar or harness and is generally very pleasant to walk with. Inside, he does not chew on anything except for his toys. While he does like to spend some time outside, he mainly wants to be by your side and is content with multiple walks and a little bit of playtime. He brings his back his toys to play fetch. After playing or going on a walk, he will generally lay down near you to take a nap. Bandit is not food aggressive and readily shares his toys and bed. He does take a little bit of time to get used to his surroundings and to get to know the people around him, so it would probably be best if he were homed with a family with older children, about 10 or so, so he can have enough space to adjust. He would be happiest as an only fur child or with another dog who is relaxed and calm within the home. While he does get along with most dogs, he can be a bit pesty at first around them, such as licking their faces and laying very close to them. Although we have not seen him around cats, he has been around birds and has only gone to sniff them. Please complete adoption application on pawprinthearts.com website. Adoption fee: $200
