About LUNA

I WANT A PITTOPOTAMUS FOR CHRISTMAS! LUNA IS STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME 585 DAYS AND COUNTING - SHE IS SO SAD! Luna is a 5 year old, 79 lb, blue pit. She is the sweetest girl on earth, full of tail wags ad kisses, she loves to be hugged and is a great 'spooner' on the couch or bed. She enjoys walks but most of all she is a big couch potato. Housebroken, LOVES KIDS, good with dogs that don't challenge her, NO CATS Luna is currently being fostered but b/c they have cats, she has to stay in the basement alone. The kids go down and watch tv with her when they have time. She is hanging out with their dogs and going for walks too! But... ...the ISOLATION IS TAKING A TOLL. She can hear them upstairs going about their day and she longs to be with them. She desperately needs to get into a home of her own, where she can be loved, feel secure and never have to leave again. A home where she can be part of the family! She is SUCH A LOVER, that my heart aches for her. I love her so much! Luna can live with dogs now but it will take the right dog and an introduction period. Easy going, goofy personalities are best b/c she plays with one like that now. She has a great personality. She loves her toys and will roll around on her back holding the toy in her paws in the air happily. She also loves her chew bones to keep her occupied. She is a REALLY EASY DOG we just have to find someone to give her a chance. She is awesome with kids and humans, and now, after some slow introduction, Luna is hanging out with the four dogs at her foster home and going for walks with them. For anyonw who has been following Luna, this is HUGE. When we got Luna, she had been in a home where the other dog constantly went after her so whenever Luna saw another dog, she assumed the worse. WE walked her around parks and pet stores and took her to events working with her to no react to other dogs. After a few months, she responded to the words 'leave it' and was able to hang out with dogs who didn't care she was there. However, I never thought she would be able to live with dogs again. Her current foster, has been working with her and she is now hanging out SUPERVISED with the other dogs! WHAT GREAT NEWS! That said, she will need a home who has no dogs OR who has the dog with the right personality. A nice easy going, happy go lucky dog is what Luna loves. One that is submissive and won't challenge her. And a Human, who understands that a slow introduction will be needed.
