About Bonnie

Adoption Fee: $200
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Introducing Bonnie, a 2 year old, 12-14 pound Rat Terrier mix. Bonnie came to us from a hoarding situation. When we got her we found out she was pregnant. Sadly all her babies were born too small to survive and she lost all of them shortly after birth. She was sad and confused for a little bit but she is doing better now. A loving home would be great to help her heal. Bonnie is good with other dogs, big and small. She likes to play with them but hasn't shown a lot of interest in toys so far. We find this a lot with dogs that haven't had a lot of positive interaction with people but they often learn with time. We believe she would be okay either as an only dog or with other dogs. She has not been cat tested. Bonnie is good with kids but she does have some trust issues with men and takes some time to warm up to them. Overall she is a little timid until she trusts you and then she is very sweet. Again, this is most likely due to her not getting a lot of positive one-on-one attention in her previous situation. She is not completely housebroken but does know how to use a dog door. With a consistent routine we are confident she will get it down in no time! She is still learning to walk on a leash and a fenced yard is recommended because she has a lot of energy to burn and needs to be able to do that safely! Bonnie sleeps in a dog bed in her foster mom's bedroom by choice, but that may be because there are many other dogs there and only so many spots open in the big bed! She is heartworm negative, up to date on all shots, spayed and microchipped with a lifetime registration. All she needs now is you!
