About Tug

Beautiful purebred Black Mouth Cur (think - Old Yeller). He's a fixed male with a lovely yellow coat and a full black masked face. He comes from a long line of hunting dogs and although we have not trained him to hunt, his instincts to 'bay' wild animals is strong. He's about 5 years old and we've had him since he was weaned. He's great with kids and great with cats, but needs a home with no other dogs. We also have a 9-year old Australian Shepherd and the Cur has begun fighting with the Aussie. If .you are looking for a good watchdog...look no further! He is a great watchdog for your home and has a horrendously scary bark. Even with the bark though, he's really a gentle giant. If you are supposed to be in the house (friends, family, anyone who comes in and sits down on the couch basically), he is super loving and patient. He is crate trained, fully house trained, knows 'sit' and 'come', does not jump up on people and is super smart. He's easily trained for whatever you want him to do and he really wants to please his people. We need to rehome him as soon as possible though, as we've had 2 big fights with the Aussie in the past month and are having to keep them totally separate. There will be a $50 re-homing fee and a home visit will be called for, just to make sure he's going to a family...not some terrible fighting club, or something.
