About Lucy

LUCY 2.5 yo. Boxer mix. She is shy at first and cautious but extremely sweet and very playful once she knows new people aren't going to harm her. She has just been spayed and is ready to find her forever family that can help her continue to grow and learn. She displays no behavioral issues aside from needing basic obedience training and confidence building and is crate trained and friendly. She just likes to be with people that she feels safe with. She is very calm and clean in her kennel and will ask to go out once she learns your routine. She is also quiet and takes treats/food gently. She is good with other dogs (seems to prefer non-dominant male dogs), has not been cat tested but has coexisted with cats while she was a stray and didn't seem to bother them. She has also seen them in a kennel environment and shown no reaction. We believe that with positive reinforcement training and continued socialization she can be the perfect addition to your home. She would likely do best in a home with another mature, playful but non-dominant dog that she can learn from. She is timid and unsure of new sounds, people and environments so she does need a family that will continue to build her confidence and trust.
