About COOKIE-2

COOKIE-2 was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved. COOKIE-2 is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 25 August 2017 and at the time of rescue at the beginning of December 2018 weighed around 24.00 pounds. She is listed as a Russell Parsons Terrier Mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. COOKIE-2 is a very sweet, affectionate, fun loving girl who is great with people, children and other dogs and would do great with a family either as the only dog or with another dog for company. She does guard the food at times, but not in an aggressive way at all. She has never been aggressive in any way and lives at the rescue with 15 dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes. Cookie loves to run and play and go on adventures. As you can see with the video's and pictures, she has a lot of fun with other dogs and lives with them in harmony and is so excited when she gets love and fuss. She rides great in the car and is very responsive and would be very easy and fun to train. She walks great on the leash. She uses the dog door to go outside to play and do her business although she most likely won't know to let her new family know to let her go outside. Cookie is extremely affectionate and is great with all people, a friend brings her 10 year old granddaughter and she loves to play with her. She would make a great family dog, or companion to someone who wants that special buddy to take everywhere with them. We do not have cats or livestock at the rescue so cannot comment how she would be with or around them She will need a family that understands the importance of training and we encourage all families to work on basic and advanced training as a family so that boundaries and expectations can be set and both Luna and her humans can learn each others body language and personalities and form a stronger bond and understanding of each other. All dogs (except dogs saved from China) are available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
