We rescued a beautiful brindle pitbull mix from traffic yesterday (12/14) in east Charlotte. No collar. No microchip. Clean & healthy. Reported to Mecklenburg County Animal Control. 10 day waiting period in effect for the owner to reclaim him. However, the real issue is that we can't keep him with us. We thought we could, but he has already peed twice inside the house. Also, we have five other pets already (3 dogs and 2 cats). They are all older and this pup has a lot of energy. He is not a good fit with us for foster or adoption, even though we already love him to pieces. He's super sweet, clean, loving and very friendly. Plus he makes this adorable grunting sound when you pet him that sounds like a little piggy (nickname 'Pumbah'). He does like to jump, but has shown zero signs of aggression toward people or other animals. He deserves to go home, or to find a space more suitable for his rambunctious needs. If you know a foster that can hold him for the remainder of the 10 days, that would be preferable to having Animal Control take him. I don't want this sweetie pie destroyed because we can't find his owners. And he will need to be re-homed, should they not come forward to claim him.
