About Daisy

Adoption Fee: $100
Shar-Pei / Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hello! My name is Daisy, and I am the sweetest, most adorable dog around. Daisy is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met and I know she would be a wonderful companion for the right family. Daisy is calm, gentle, and affectionate. She is house trained, very well behaved, and knows a number of commands (sit, down, wait, stay, come, leave it, hello). Daisy gets along great with most dogs and humans. Daisy has only ever not gotten along with dogs when they are aggressive toward her or intruding on her space when she is anxious, she interacts well with kids so long as they are calm and respectful of her space, and she has loved the cats she has met (even though the cats bopped her on the head because they didn't like a big stranger in their space). Daisy LOVES to cuddle, sleep, and laze around outdoors. She is a very mellow dog and is perfectly content to lounge and love so long as she has a human around. Daisy struggles with anxiety, she is skittish and easily startled. As part of that, she has severe separation anxiety so has a very hard time being left alone. We adopted her when she was 1.5 years old and have had her for 1.5 years. We have worked with our vet and a behaviorist to help manage her separation anxiety symptoms and both agree that she will need to go to a home where a human can be with her almost all the time. Daisy oscillates on how much she is able to handle being alone, sometimes she cannot make it 10 minutes without panting, pacing, and destroying property as stress responses but other times has made it 10 hours with no issues. Another dog and access to a strong, tall fenced yard are likely to help alleviate her symptoms but will not cure her separation anxiety so she will absolutely need to be in a home where someone can be around the great majority of time. If you think you are able to meet Daisy's needs or have more questions please don't hesitate to contact me. She is truly wonderful dog and she deserves a truly wonderful family.
