About LULU

Great Pyrenees
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet LULU! After over 2 years in a shelter kennel, it's time for LULU to get a change of scenery and continue her search for a forever home. She entered the Santa Barbara County shelter system as a very under-socialized pup, and was almost immediately rescued by DAWG - Dog Adoption and Welfare Group. She became a staff, volunteer, and Santa Barbara community favorite! This dainty 5 year old, oversized lap dog is about 125 lbs. She is an exotic power breed known as a Central Asian Shepherd. She has a medium to low energy level, but is playful...a forever puppy attitude. She knows 'sit' and is treat-motivated to learn more. She uses a gentle mouth to take treats. DAWG always goes the extra mile for their dogs, so LULU received two successful TPLO surgeries, and has recovered fully while at the shelter. LULU can be nervous with strangers - both dogs and people, which means that she can be a tad dramatic. It's been difficult to continue her socialization progress with her bad legs because shelter vet mandated limited activity. It would be in the best interest of her health and knees to take 10 pounds off. She is OK on walks, but they need to be short. LULU is an amazing dog who will flourish in a home of her own. We are looking for a forever home that is committed to her social progress and needs. VIDEO when she first entered the shelter
