About Pumpkin

Her name is Pumpkin. She is a 1 yr old Dobie mix that was given to our shelter by the girlfriend of her owner. He left town and never came back for her. The girlfriend was financially unable to provide for her so she signed her over the our shelter. We are at maximum capacity and are needing to look into euthanizing some dogs to make room for the incoming ones. Pumpkin is on our euthanasia list :( Most people are not interested in her because her barrier aggression leaves them with a bad impression of her. The one's who aren't put off by that find her to be too hyper and ill mannered outside of the pen. She has never been taught any manners and jumps on people in her excitement. She pulls really hard on a leash and most of our volunteers can't physically walk her. Despite these bad things, she is a lovely dog who responds well to someone with authority. She can get along with other dogs, but we currently have several difficult dogs whom she hates and so she seems to want to attack them and they attack back (there have been no physical altercations, just barking and growling). She is house trained and has been an inside dog all of her life. She's very energetic and playful. She loves the snow!!! She's not an excessive barker and only gets noisy when the other dogs start with their barking fits. She is spayed, current on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She tested heartworm negative.
