About Jade

One person's trash is another's treasure. And oh what treasures these dogs are!!! Three hounds, traveling together, were fortunate enough to find themselves at a home where a fantastic family took them in and kept them at their house through their stray hold. Instead of taking them to an already crowded shelter, they reached out to ADA for help. All 3 were transferred to ADA. We believe the 2 Blueticks are mother and daughter. They are truly 2 wonderful dogs who love each other tremendously. They play together, sleep together, and find comfort with each other. Hi, my name is Jade and I am an absolute jewel! I am about a year old and weight about 50 pounds. When I was found, I was terribly thin - but have put on a few pounds. Jade is a gem that has been made from 2 different minerals, and I am a gem that is made up of the best of my mom and dad. I am affectionate, loyal, and loving. I want to be near you and get attention from you. I am good with other dogs and absolutely adore my foster sister (who we are pretty certain is my mom). I have been doing wonderful at my foster mom's house. I am quite intelligent as I already know how to use the doggie doors to let myself in and out when I need to go to the bathroom. I am working on the housetraining part and doing fantastic for a dog who has never been inside a house. I don't get on the furniture and I haven't tried to play with or chew anything in the house except for my basket of toys I have. I am learning to walk on the leash and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go for walks. I do get super excited and want to be in the lead and take you on our adventures. I am learning to listen when my foster mom tells me 'back' which is my signal I am walking/running a little too fast. Since I have probably lived either chained or outside my whole life, I really like this place called 'inside.' It is so nice and warm and comfortable. I don't mind going outside for walks or to go to the bathroom - heck, as long as you are outside with me, I am okay too. BUT�'�|�'�|I really, really like this thing called 'inside'. I am very calm inside the house - I like to follow you around (not to the point that it is annoying) and I LOVE getting rubbed. I have also discovered toys and I enjoy playing with them and tossing them in the air and catching them. My mom isn't sure what happened to one of my back paws. I only have 2 toes on one of them. They aren't sure if I was born that way or if I lost it somehow. I walk perfectly fine, but I do tend to lift that leg up sometimes when I run in the yard. The cold weather makes it more sensitive, but that doesn't stop me from running zoomies around the yard - it is so much fun! So, if you are looking for a truly wonderful, faithful, loving companion, then look no further than me, Jade! I am all of that AND more. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
