One person's trash is another's treasure. And oh�'�|�'�|.what treasures these dogs are!!! We are 2 girls who will steal your hearts. Three hounds, traveling together, were fortunate enough to find themselves at a home where a fantastic family took them in and kept them at their house through their stray hold. Instead of taking them to an already crowded shelter, they reached out to ADA for help. We are so glad they did. All 3 were transferred to ADA. We believe the 2 Blueticks are mother and daughter. They are truly 2 wonderful dogs who love each other tremendously. They play together, sleep together, and find comfort with each other. I am Emerald - as my name tells you, I am a unique, beautiful and valuable gem. I am about 2 years old and weight about 60 pounds. (When I was found, I was terribly thin - but have put on a few pounds.) I am good with other dogs and absolutely adore my foster sister (who we are pretty certain is my daughter). I have been doing wonderful at my foster mom's house. I am quite intelligent as I already know how to use the doggie doors there to let myself in and out when I need to go to the bathroom. I am working on the housetraining part and doing fantastic for a dog who has never been inside a house. I don't get on the furniture and I haven't tried to play with or chew anything in the house. I walk well on the leash and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go for walks. I get super excited when my mom gets the harnesses and leashes. I get so excited, I want her to put on my harness AND the other dogs' too. I really enjoy people watching when we walk. If I see someone, I like to stop and watch them. Since I have probably lived either chained or outside my whole life, I really like this place called 'inside'; it is so nice and warm and comfortable. I don't mind going outside for walks or to go to the bathroom - heck, as long as you are outside with me, I am okay too. BUT�'�|�'�|I really, really like this thing called 'inside'. I am very calm inside the house - I like to follow you around (not to the point that it is annoying) and I LOVE getting rubbed. So, if you are looking for a truly wonderful, faithful, loving companion, then look no further than me, Emerald. I am all of that AND more. If you find it in your heart to adopt me and my daughter, that would be the most wonderful thing of all. We get along perfectly and love each other tremendously. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
