About Aaja

Aaja is a young girl who came to us at about 8 months of age. She was pregnant at the time and shortly thereafter had a litter of kittens. Now that Aaja's kittens have grown up and been adopted, she's ready to find a home of her own. Aaja can be a little bit shy when she first meets new people but once she's familiar with them she is very calm and sweet. When Aaja is not napping, she politely and quietly follows her foster mom all over the apartment. She'll sit in the chair and watch TV, she'll sit on a bar stool and watch dinner being made, and she sleeps right at the foot of the bed. She has a love for soft and plush bedding and will take any opportunity to sleep on sweaters/bathrobe/scarves (she has good taste). Although Aaja likes to be near her people and watch what's going on, she is not a lap cat and would prefer to sit beside you than on you. Aaja is uneasy around loud or foreign noises (e.g. dishwasher, laundry machine, etc.) but can comfortably be left alone at home during the day without feeling anxious or lonely. Aaja is not readily trusting of new people and would do best with either a single person or couple without children. She will quickly run and hide if she hears raised voices/sees any flurry of activity or sudden movement. Aaja will make an excellent companion to a working professional or couple and would be at home in a condo or house- but inside only! Her skittish nature could lead to accidents outside. She has not been in contact with dogs during our time with us but she has been comfortable with the cats she's met.
