About Maverick

Meet Maverick, a male Australian Cattledog. He is just under a year old and is on the smaller side. He weighs 22 pounds and will likely get to 30 pounds when fully grown. He somehow ended up at a local shelter with a broken leg. Now, his leg is all ready for the active lifestyle this guy deserves. Maverick is learning quickly. He knows his name and is working on his recall. He is also doing well with potty training. He is also crate trained but will bark if he thinks he is missing something. He doesn't like to be left out and will do best in a home where his people are home most of the day...or take him with them. Maverick is high energy. He will benefit from an active home that can wear him out. He would be great at agility! Maverick is good with other dogs. He likes to chase cats who run. A dog savvy cat who knows to stay put could be fine with Maverick. As for chickens, he will kill them. He is fine with other farm animals. Maverick likes a polite introduction to new people. He will bark at them until he checks them out and decides they are okay. That said, he is a cuddler with his own people. After a fun, busy day, he will want to hang out and cuddle. Maverick is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is being fostered in Norco. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
