POTENTIAL ADOPTION TODAY, 12-15-18. THE POST WILL BE REMOVED OR UPDATED ACCORDINGLY BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY. Japanese akita mix, unsure of the other breed. Shelter I adopted her from claimed she was a Shiba Inu. OTHER ANIMALS: She lives in perfect harmony with two indoor/outdoor cats that she's never been aggressive towards, despite them being defensive around her at first. We don't have much info on her demeanor around other dogs, but considering how chill she is with everything else, she'd probably acclimate quite well. KIDS: We have two children, a 6 and 4 year old, that have done everything from riding her, laying with her while hugging, etc. TEMPERMENT: We've played with her ears, taken food from her, taken toys, etc. and have NEVER been shown any form of aggression whatsoever. She very rarely barks/speaks at all. Incredibly friendly, definitely NOT a guard dog, but an incredibly friendly companion. HEALTH ISSUE: We're fairly certain she has Sebaceous Adenitis, an auto-immune skin disorder that causes hair loss and a 'musky odor' if weekly baths aren't kept up with. We have not had the skin biopsy done to confirm, but every aspect of it fits her to a T. Unfortunately, we're gone too much to be able to care for her as much as she needs, be it daily for long hours due to work, or longer stints because of traveling. We just don't have the time or resources to care for her in the way she deserves. I figured I'd try to see if a loving family would be able to take her in before I explored other options. For the family willing to take her, we can set you up with the vast majority of basic supplies and gear. More pictures / video can be sent, if desired.
