About Rue

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Adoption Fee: $100 Age: 5 years old (ish) Breed: Papillon mix Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped Rue came to Fuzzy Pawz after being adopted from a shelter because 'she looked so sad'; when the adopters got her home they quickly realized that they were in over their heads. They felt she was nervous and un-trainable. Poor Rue just needed the right environment with people who understood her. While she is nervous in new surroundings and with new people, she quickly turned around in her foster home and showed to be an amazing little doggy. She just needed some structure; some patience and a kind heart. With the right home she will become a great member of the family. Rue is just one of those dogs who has been let down by people time and time again. She has worked really hard on potty training and we have only had a few accidents since putting her on a schedule and letting her have a longer time outside. She will likely have accidents in a new home for the first week or so until she settles into a new routine (this will be her 4th-5th home in her life). Her nervousness is really just a result of lack of socialization as a puppy. It took her a few days of hiding under the desk for her to come jump on the couch and ask for a pet. She will need a family who understands socializing an adult dog. She is not aggressive (she runs and pees if you try to pick her up and she doesn't know you) but she does growl when she wants something which makes people that don't know her nervous. She likes to sit next to us and bark at guests. She barks/growls (it's actually pretty cute once you realize she isn't being aggressive) at us when she wants us to refill her water or she thinks its dinner time and we forgot or she wants us to give her another blanket to cuddle in. She loves walks and car rides but strangers and loud noises scare her sometimes. She loves sitting next to you on the couch and cuddling under blankets. She likes females more than males but if the only one in the room is a guy then she will cuddle with them. She sleeps in a crate and is crated when her foster parents are not home because of the bathroom training with positive training and a bit of time she can be trusted to sleep in bed and out in the house. She is dog friendly but I have not seen her attempt to play with any of my other three dogs. She is cat friendly.
