About Prudence

Pru is a 9-10 year old, 18 pound Beagle. Prior to coming into rescue Pru had a pretty rough life. She lived outside in a chain link kennel with two other Beagles and received food and water sporadically. She came into rescue when she was seized by a county sheriff for neglect and had never been to the vet in her life. It didn't take Pru long to figure out that living in a house with regular meals and a soft bed was a great thing. Now she sleeps in bed tucked up next to her foster mom and is only in a kennel if her foster mom leaves. Pru does great with the three other dogs in her foster home and would enjoy a home with another dog buddy but would not enjoy young children. She doesn't have any experience with them and their sudden movements and loud noises would scare her. Pru would also like a fenced in yard. Beagles can either listen with their ears or follow smells with their noses. The two are mutually exclusive. If Pru's is using her ears she hears you calling her name and comes when you call her. If Pru is using her nose she can't hear you calling her. Pru would like a forever home where people were not gone an 8 hour workday and were home with her much of the day. Since she spent many years without people to love her she is now very attached to them. She really enjoys laying by her foster family and following them through the house. Pru is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. She just had her teeth cleaned and is all ready for her forever home.
