She is so happy to be in a nice warm, dry cabin instead of an outdoor breeding cage where she spent her whole life - her stubby little tail wags her entire body all of the time!! She craves attention and closeness with humans and is low key and friendly with all of the other dogs. No one barks when Abby is around and otherwise nervous dogs settle down in her presence. She is a kind and gentle spirit loves to snuggle in her warm bedroom on a cold day. She loves to get as close to you as she can and maybe sit in your lap :) Abby recently had surgery to evaluate several mammary tumors. The largest tumor turned out to be cancerous, however, it is very slow growing and they got all of it and left the other benign tumors. She will need to go in about every 6 months to check to make sure the tumors aren't growing and they are not affecting her lungs. Otherwise, Abby is a very healthy girl! Abby is now in a foster home where she is loving being part of a real family. She is enjoying spending time with her furry foster siblings and curling up with her foster daddy. While she was at the rescue Abby loved the freedom of going in and out of her doggie door when SHE wanted to and roaming the big enclosure at the rescue. This is a privilege she had earned by staying close to us and joyously bounding along beside us.
