About Bowie

Fostered from 11 months old. Was in an extremely abusive situation so does not like being crowded and huddled. Will cuddle on his terms. Won't sleep in bed with you, likes to sleep alone. Is pretty submissive so possible to be around other dogs but not if the other dog is aggressive at all. May need patience to work with the relationship between dogs. He gets along with 2 of 4 of my dogs. We are going in for our third installment of heartworm treatment on Monday (meaning there is only one left after that). He loves to run and play. Healthy appetite. The group I rescued him through wanted to amputate his front left leg but I rehabilitated him so you cannot even tell he has a subtle gimp. He does have a cropped tail due to damage done from his first owner. Gets along with cats no problem. I would recommend a home with older kids that understand and respect an animal's person space. I have a 1 year old but she does not get excitedly in his face. He lets her lay on him. However, if you come at him anxiously it makes him uncomfortable and he will run away. Needs someone who wants to play and allow him to get comfortable to cuddle with you on his terms. Sweet boy!!! Has one icy blue eye. Does well in the car. I recommend a leash until he gets use to you or you will be chasing him for forever!
