About Gabbie

I have only left unattended in the house a few times (was in another room with door closed) and she eats shoes, hats, etc. that are accessible. She can jump on the counter and has eaten take out food off the counter when I wasn't looking. She is very loving - but I think she is just a big baby, unsure of how to show her love and what boundaries are. She was left outside all alone with her previous owners and she used to be very hesitant to go outside, now she has no problem going out, but as soon as one of the other dogs wants in and she sees the door open she comes charging to be let in too. She is jealous of the other dogs getting attention. She is very subordinate in that she always rolls onto her back when you pet her. She has to be touching me all the time- and at night insists on getting in the bed, she sneaks in if she has to overnight. She lies on top of us or along us - not just at the foot of the bed. I don't have the time to dedicate to her and she deserves that. She is very loving and sweet, she just needs some discipline and training. She did attack my older dachshund/beagle mix last week while he was eating - she came up behind him and tried to take food from him, he told her no and she grabbed him by the neck. I got her off him and he is fine but was shaken and scared. She immediately put her tail between her legs and realized she was wrong. She gets along great with my 10 lb dachshund- go figure!
