About Honey

This is Honey. Honey is a young adult dog. I believe she's a blue nosed pit-bull, with light tan fur, light eyes and white markings on her chest and toes. I met Honey a bit more than a week ago when she showed up on my front porch freezing and shaking in bad condition. She was wearing a collar that was wayyy too tight, she had some fleas and must have been lost for at least a couple weeks in the cold by the sign of how skinny she was. She also had a slight limp from what I do not know but I believe to be an old injury. I kept her for one night after driving her all around my area looking for the owner with no result. The vet I took her to said she isn't micro chipped but she is spayed. I took her to my local shelter thinking she'd be found or at least put up for adoption for sure because she was so charming and sweet and social-able everywhere we went- Unfortunately the shelter told me when I called to check on her today that she is apparently aggressive towards other big dogs making her ineligible for adoption, so they have her scheduled to be put down tomorrow. They said they were only currently housing big dogs (those she did not get along with) and when she was with me she was not aggressive toward my cat, my families wiener dog, or any animals at the vet-so she may just have aggressive behaviors brought on by trauma caused by other big dogs or even worse being trained to fight for pitbull fights. (The collar being so so tight was a possible sign) But Honey is not a fighter, and doesnt deserve to die in a pound because of her past. She is sweet, affectionate, sociable with other humans, and honestly so tinder-hearted. If I had my own place to keep her I would but Im a young woman living with parents who wont let me keep her. The shelter is letting me take her back tomorrow to save her from her scheduled appointment to be put down. Honey has been through so much and deserves a real home with a warm bed and an owner who understands her! Please respond quickly as Im seriously not supposed to have her here but am only make-shift fostering until I find the right person willing to give this girl enough chance to find her forever family & home!
