About Friday-PENDING!

Friday is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this little dog is with his stunning black coat with the whitest of white markings. The shelter has taken to calling this little guy Panda. We can definitely see why...when Friday looks at you with his adorable look, he looks for all the world like a little Panda Bear! Once Friday gets a sudsy bath and a thorough grooming, he will absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At 18 months old and 18 lbs, Friday is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet, smaller dog is welcome. Friday is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he can be a mellow and cuddly couch companion. At this early point in Friday's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Friday to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We feel strongly that Friday attend positive reinforcement group obedience classes to be given the skills to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. In this spirit, Farfel's isn't open to adopting Friday to a family that is unwilling to attend level one obedience classes. We are happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement/ force-free trainers in your area. Right now, Friday is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Friday is loyal and loving once comfortable..and can therefore be a constant companion. He would love nothing more than long walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Friday is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love, patience and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Friday's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a young rescue dog. He requires behavioral guidance with boundaries and tons of love to give him a positive attitude about his world. Friday would be overjoyed with a family that spends time at home during the day. Retirees or a younger family that works from home or part time would be perfect for Friday. He would love nothing more than to be a best friend for daytime walks, cuddling and outdoor play. Friday won't be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Friday's neuter and microchip after his arrival in Denver if one of our local vets is used. Friday has the softest, non-shedding (or lightly shedding coat..we'll know for certain after he gets a sudsy bath) that you just want to pet him all the time. He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is recommended for longevity and coat care) to keep his coat cottony-soft, healthy and matt-free. Friday is arriving on transport in Denver on 12/8/18. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup.
