About Rex

Rex is a playful, high energy dog with lots of love. He enjoys car rides, walks, playing with his toys, and getting lots of pets and snuggles. Although he is very sweet, Rex has a lot of anxiety that manifests as aggression. When we adopted him, he did a lot of resource guarding with food, toys, and spaces. He is also scared of the dark, the rain, and certain outdoor spaces. He has gotten much, much better and is working on the commands 'leave it' and 'give' and is learning to share his toys, food, and space with kids and other dogs. He has been doing great with the immediate family (2 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs), but continues to be anxious and aggressive with outsiders and recently bit a guest. Rex is a great dog and will thrive with a family that can give him love, patience, and a safe environment to continue his growth.
