He came into rescue after being abandoned. He weighed a whopping 3 lbs at vet estimated 6 weeks old and was immediately wormed upon intake passing parasites (roundworms) for 3 days straight. He was dehydrated and has a severe case of sarcoptic mange. He was given subcutaneous fluids, vitamins, and heating pads to recover. He is now well enough to start treatment for the mange and has undergone 2 treatments. He has lost most of his hair but it will grow back as he heals. This little guy has been through the ringer and if that wasn't enough of a rough start, his skull was injured and has healed lopsided because of head trauma. The vet says dropped or hit. This little one is fortunate he was saved when he was or he surely would have succumbed to the parasites within days he was so dehydrated and thin. Once he started to gain weight, his bones needed extra vitamins to develop properly and support his body but I am excited to say we are on the mend! Breeds cannot be guaranteed but are more often than not a 'best guess'. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A securely fenced yard is required if a yard is available.
