About Javi

Javi is a very sweet, playful, submissive and loving, 35-pound, one-year-old male, chocolate Border Collie-mix looking for a loving guardian. Javi was found abandoned in front of a Dunkin Donuts in Chicago. He was skin and bones weighing in at close to 20 pounds. Sadly, from the scars on his face, it looks like he was caged and muzzled for most of his puppyhood. His feet are a little flat from lack of exercise and his legs a bit bowed. Lucky for him, he found a fabulous foster home where he's getting the love, veterinary care and nutrition he lacked. He is super snugly with his people. And, he is quite agile; he can quickly hop a four-foot fence. Javi enjoys the company of people, as well as other dogs and cats. He's been going to doggy daycare and doing great with all his canine friends. He is housebroken when taken out regularly, easily crate-trained for short periods of time, and walks nicely on leash, although he can be reactive at times. He does bark at noises from inside the apartment so that may be something to consider if your building has thin walls. Otherwise, he's a great apartment dog if he gets out for playdates and walks. Javi is now healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, bordatella and canine flu vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative.
