About Risa

Meet Risa, sweet 10 month old Chihuahua-Dachshund mix. She only weighs about 11 pounds and will not get much larger. Risa is very loving and REALLY likes to lay on/near her person(s). She is a bit timid and recently spayed, so she is still coming out of her shell at her foster home. She definitely has moments of spunk and typical puppy antics! She has a good bit of spring in her and does not hesitate to jump up on things - including the kitchen table! Risa is good in her crate and likes to chew on nyla-bones. In a previous home, she really enjoyed chewing shoes (yikes!), but her current foster mom has been careful not to give her the opportunity. Risa is doing well with house-breaking, but when transitioning she will probably have some accidents. She is doing okay with the resident dogs, but all are considerably older and most considerably larger - she is still very submissive and timid to the larger dogs and her attempt to play with the older resident Chihuahua got her a bit of a reprimand, so she hasn't tried that again�'�| She would need slow and structure introductions and considerable supervision until she had some comfort and confidence around any other dogs. Risa would be best in a calm home with no kids or older than 15 years old. She has some typical Chihuahua behaviors, ie desire to be bossy and in-charge, so she would do best with someone familiar with providing guidance regarding these behaviors and ensuring she learns her boundaries. Previous experience with Chihuahuas is preferable. Risa seems to have two speeds - over the top and snuggling - so she needs someone willing to give her some good exercise and the snuggle time that she craves! She has been spayed and is up to date with vaccinations. Risa's adoption fee is $250.
